PLAYGROUND GEOMETRY

Gets Elementary School Student Out of the Classroom and Onto the Playground Drawing Geometric Figures Using Euclidean Construction Methods.

A simple string substitutes for a straight edge and compass. 

Children, working in groups of three, first first connect dots illustrating the idea of a straight line and line segment.  The work through a tiling proof of the Pythagorean Theorem and conclude with drawing a five pointed star.
